The Nissan Motorsports Team has teamed up with Sony to bring together the 16 best Gran Turismo 5 players from around the country for a shot at taking their talents from the sticks to the steering wheel, and earning a pro driver spot. The challenges will be documented in a reality TV show, GT Academy, which will air on SPEED the 20th of this month. For this month’s issue, MotorTrend took to an empty airstrip with a quiver of eleven of the world’s best driving cars. Their goal was to host the world’s greatest drag race, and that is exactly what they did – with a total of 5,000 horsepower, 82 cylinders, and almost $1.5 million.
